I recently discovered Craftivate, a local DIY art and craft studio in Wallingford, Connecticut. the owner, Amy, is so sweet and thoughtful and with the coronavirus outbreak, she has had to close her doors physically but is doing some incredible things to keep kids (and parents) occupied during this difficult time.
We got my son, who is 4 years old, two of her craft kits. We chose the mask and cape kit as well as the fox lantern kit. I expected the superhero kit to be the chosen one, but man, this fox lantern went above and beyond anyone's expectations.
We started by opening each kit and reading over the directions. Every kit comes with a detailed instruction sheet, all of the necessary supplies, plus some extras.
We decided a smock would be a good idea. Modgepodge and a toddler should require a smock.
This kit did require some parental assistance, but overall he did most of it himself.
It went from a fox lantern to a fox night light. And he's obsessed.
The other kit was a superhero cape and mask.
Again, all supplies are included and I'd say they're good for all ages too!
If you have not checked out Craftivate in Wallingford yet, I highly encourage you to do so. Your kids will thank you!
