Must Eat Monday: LaTavola Ristorante, Waterbury

When you have friends from Waterbury who want to show you what Waterbury has to offer, you trust them and listen. LaTavola in Waterbury did not disappoint. And if you've never been, make a reservation and GO!

Let me preface this by saying there were three of us and we were HUNGRY!

Three moms, all with young kids, all needing a night out, we took complete advantage of this outing!

We enjoyed their cucumber martinis, a selection from the Mule menu (yes, they have a whole cocktail menu devoted to different kinds of mules), and some bubbly, because what moms night out does not include bubbly?!

Our appetizer extravaganza was just that - an extravaganza! Here's an overview of what we enjoyed.

Proscuitto-wrapped gorgonzola stuffed figs. I'm just gonna leave it right here. We licked the plate.

Eggplant Torta, roasted eggplant with roasted peppers, spinach, mozzarella topped witha  light salad and a balsamic drizzle.

Arancini. Risotto balls. With peas and other deliciousness too.

Some of our selections from their antipasta menu. The chef was so sweet he included a few extras because we ordered so many!

Veal meatballs with fresh ricotta. The sauce. OMG the sauce. So melt-in-your-mouth-yummy. Makes me wish I was Italian.

Yeah, our table was a bit packed. You'd think we were men! Ha ha!

And we could never forget dessert. I mean, we couldn't decide so we got their sampler! I highly recommend doing this. Or come just for this. And a cocktail.

Sometimes you meet friends in the strangest of places. Us? Well, one I met on Facebook. Yup. Who would've thought that was possible! The other? In a music class where her son almost trampled mine. And look, we're friends and smiling. Because it's all good. And see our smiles?! It was a GREAT night. One that we all wish we could do weekly. Here's to hoping we can swing monthly at least!

Have you ever been to LaTavola? You don't know what you're missing!!
