Holy Pregnant Belly!

After years of trying, I still wake up every morning thinking I’m dreaming. But this week marks 17 weeks pregnant! It’s the best dream come true yet.

Being only 4’10”, there’s not much room for my belly to go but OUT, so I started showing pretty early. I hope you don’t mind my progress pics!

Baby Boy’s for baseball game at Fenway park! 12 weeks and starting to show!

At 13 weeks, we had our announcement pictures taken.

I started to struggle to fit into my normal clothes at 14 weeks…

I am now a true believer of the maxi dress at 15 weeks!

In New York City, walking the High Line, at 16 weeks, I formally “popped” and looked legit pregnant! Four months down, six more to go!

We’re Having a Baby!

This week is our 16 week mark and we couldn’t be more excited to share with our friends and family that we’re having a baby! And… it’s a BOY!

I am 37 years old. Four years ago, on my 33rd birthday, we decided to start trying. Four years later, here we are, finally able to celebrate we’re having our miracle baby! Jasper, our 8-year old labrador, is going to make the best big brother ever!

When we were taking this picture, his head was moving back and forth and we were all convinced he was reading the signs. He had a HUGE smile on his face too!

And here’s my favorite picture, not of us, but of our ultrasound. Why, you might ask?! Well, as much as we know he is the most loved baby in the world, my uterus is in the shape of a heart. Simply proving that belief!

Clambake Connection Review

Two weeks ago, we threw my father a surprise 70th birthday party and hired Clambake Connection to provide the food as well as the tent, tables, and staff.

To say they were incredible would be an understatement. To start off with, we worked with Maria at the general office. She was very informative, open and honest, and helped us choose the best package for our party without pressuring us into spending more money. She arranged everything for us, making every step of party planning, preparation, and entertaining, as well as clean up, a breeze.

They came a few days prior to the party and set up the tent in our backyard (we didn’t even have to be home for it!) and left all of the tables and chairs. When Phil and Devin arrived on the day of the party, they set up all of the tables, chairs, and linens as well as the entire food prep, cooking, and serving area. They were efficient and did an amazing job very quickly.

Phil and Devin were the two who came for our event. They set up the raw bar and shucked fresh oysters and clams and had fresh shrimp as well as crudites. FYI- the horseradish on the raw bar was the best we’ve ever had!

Phil was pretty entertaining while shucking!

SO hospitable, SO professional, and SO good with ALL of our guests!

This picture doesn’t do this justice. The oysters were SO fresh, delectable, and just went down like juice!

They set up giant pots to do all the cooking off away from the tent then bring it to prep and serve.

We were so impressed with prepping 40 lobsters we had several guests filming Phil!

On top of lobsters, everyone also got clams and mussels as well as fresh potatoes and corn.

Every lobster boil needs butter. Lots and lots of butter.

Everyone is served with a complete tray- lobster, clams and mussels, salad (of course, this young gentleman didn’t NEED or WANT salad!) potatoes, corn, fresh bread, and melted butter. On top of serving everyone, they also clean up tables and take ALL of the trash with them.

If you are looking for a perfect company to cater your next event, Clambake Connection is the way to go. Be sure you ask for Maria.

We researched about ten different companies and not only were they the most professional, courteous, and honest, they were also incredibly affordable and gave us the most bang for our buck!

Thank you, Maria, Phil, and Devin, for a party people are still talking about- and will be talking about for years to come!

Carry On Warrior

I love to read. Just ask my husband. He always says he wishes he could read like I read. I read a lot. I have piles of books everywhere. In my office. In our family room on the coffee table. On my bedside table in our bedroom. And variety of topics too. Personal development and improvement. Professional development. Nonsensical books. Girlie books. You name it.

I have had this book, in a pile, for a few months now, and haven’t picked it up yet. Until today.

Carry On, Warrior is by Glennon Doyle Melton, a recovering everything, and she’s the author of Momastery. I read her blog now and then and have always thought of her as a good read.

I would bet you a million dollars I’ll read this book cover to cover this weekend. I had to stop 7 pages in to simply write this post. And to tell you, go buy it. I guarantee it’s going to not only be a good read, but it’ll connect with you. Because 7 pages in, she’s already connected with me.
