Must Eat Monday: Bella' Gio, Cheshire

This weekend, we visited Bella' Gio Restaurant in Cheshire. We have driven by at least a thousand times and never once stopped. It was absolutely gorgeous out and we were on the hunt for someplace to sit outside that wasn't a far drive. Bingo. And jackpot!

First and foremost, their cocktail menu is on point! Their drinks are creative and delicious, are served in a variety of size glasses, and are filled with crushed ice. Makes for a perfect summer night cocktail!

While I don't remember what my friend got (the pink drink, she had two!) I had the Mister Big Stuff and it was fan-freaking-tastic! I could only drink one though and will say I slept like a baby that night!

Every dish that went by us looked delicious and we were excited to try so many options, but when all was said and done, we stuck with two apps and a pizza.

The burrata appetizer is served with proscuitto and marinated eggplant as well as crusty grilled bread with a balsamic drizzle. Yum.

Their meat and cheese board was good, not fabulous, but very GOOD. I'd get it again.

The mashed potato pizza, Yummy. Now, I will say if you're eaten this classic pie at Bar in New Haven, this is different. Still good, but different. And it's got bacon, and there isn't much better than bacon.

Cheshire is just one town over from us and we miss being super close to downtown New Haven where we could be in 10-12 minutes with a plethora of restaurants to choose from. Living in the boonies has been an adjustment but finding these hidden gems like Bella' Gio is a fun surprise!

Have you been to Bella' Gio yet?
